However, what is hard to say in person can be much easier to say in a letter, and this brings me nicely onto From Me to You \u2014 a charity dedicated to supporting those living with cancer.<\/p>\n<h2>What is From Me to You?<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.frommetoyouletters.co.uk\/\">From Me To You<\/a> is a charity that organises a letter-writing service between cancer patients, their friends and family, and strangers.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thepencompany.live\/blog\/letter-writing\/why-i-love-letterwriting\/\">Letter-writing can be beneficial<\/a> for those living with cancer and their friends and families for many reasons, including the below:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A letter on the doormat is far more positive than a bill.<\/li>\n<li>A letter is more personal than a text message or email.<\/li>\n<li>Difficult emotions and feelings can be tackled in a letter easier than when you are face-to-face.<\/li>\n<li>A letter can be opened whenever the recipient would like to open it.<\/li>\n<li>Letter-writing is good for mental health.<\/li>\n<li>Letters are physical \u2014 unlike emails or text messages \u2014 and engage the senses of touch and smell.<\/li>\n<li>Letters can be taken anywhere \u2014 a park bench, the hospital, or a beach, for example.<\/li>\n<li>Letter-writing takes time and is, therefore, a gift of love.<\/li>\n<li>Letter-writing offers the opportunity to slow down and reflect.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>How does the letter-writing service work?<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-4819\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thepencompany.live\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/woman-reading-letter-dog-1024x683.jpg\" alt=\"A smiling woman reading a letter with a dog\" width=\"650\" height=\"434\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.thepencompany.live\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/woman-reading-letter-dog-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.thepencompany.live\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/woman-reading-letter-dog-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.thepencompany.live\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/woman-reading-letter-dog-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.thepencompany.live\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/woman-reading-letter-dog-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.thepencompany.live\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/woman-reading-letter-dog.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>From Me To You offers two services.<\/p>\n<p>If you are living with cancer, you can request a Happy Box from the charity <a href=\"https:\/\/www.frommetoyouletters.co.uk\/happy-box\">here<\/a>, and you can choose how often you would like to receive a letter from a stranger.
